Katriina Nuutinen

Katriina Nuutinen studied art and design at the Aalto University School of Art and Design and graduated with a master's degree in art in 2011. She completed her studies at Konstfack in Stockholm as an exchange student in 2009. In 2011, Nuutinen was awarded the most promising young designer of the year in the MUOTO2011-gala in Helsinki. Nuutinen works in her own design company in Joensuu. She has successfully participated in numerous international exhibitions in Tokyo, New York, Stockholm, Paris and Milan, among others. Nuutinen is a founding member of the designer collective Kaamos. Nuutinen's breakthrough product Hely jewelry lamp was awarded in 2009 as the most beautiful object at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. Delicate Hely reflects Nuutinen's knowledge of various materials and her creative ability to combine materials. She specializes in lighting design as well as glass and ceramics, but her work essentially involves combining them uniquely with other materials such as wood and metals.
