Recycling a luminaire is easy!
You can deliver the luminaire free of charge and in its entirety to a WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) collection point. You do not need to disassemble the luminaire, as disassembly is carried out at the waste treatment facility. Please dispose of any removable incandescent or halogen bulbs in mixed waste.
Electrical and electronic equipment can be returned to the national WEEE collection network, which includes:
Energy-saving lamps can be returned to the largest retailers that sell them (home appliance stores, department stores) without an obligation to purchase a new product.
- Sortti stations
- Mobile collection vehicles
At Sortti stations, you can bring:
- Luminaires
- Lamps and light strings (except incandescent and halogen bulbs)
For example energy-saving and fluorescent lamps, LED lamps
Note: Fluorescent tubes and compact fluorescent lamps (energy-saving lamps) must be sorted into hazardous waste collection points at Sortti stations due to the risk of breakage. They can also be returned to hazardous waste reception points.
The operation is funded by recycling fees included in the product price.
Thank you for sorting electrical equipment!
More information about recycling:
Up to 90% of a device’s materials can be recycled. At the treatment facility, glass, metals, and plastics are removed from electrical and electronic waste. During pre-treatment, all hazardous substances such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and hexavalent chromium are removed. These are then delivered to a hazardous waste facility for further processing. Packaging waste, cables, wires, circuit boards, and plastic parts are also separated. After this, the sorted materials are crushed, mechanically separated from each other, and sent on for reuse. For example, aluminium from electronic waste can be used to make interference shielding in new mobile phones. Recycled glass can be used, for example, in insulation materials such as glass wool.
