Simple in its mode of expression, Innolux Murakka represents timeless Scandinavian style. The lamp hangs naturally in the wire mounting attached to the bracing. The attraction and originality of Murakka is its exceptional suspension method, combined with the simplified design.
As a product, Murakka was launched at the turn of the millennium. ”The idea started from a tree trunk around which a robe had wedged over the years cutting partly into the trunk”, is how designer Juho Pasila explains it. The prototype was ready in 2005 during Pasila’s study period at the Institute of Design and Fine Arts in Lahti. Murakka was presented to the public at the newcomers’ part of the 2012 SaloneSatellite at the Milan Furniture Fair in April 2012 and at the Helsinki Habitare Fair in September 2012.
