Café Savoy,
which was opened in November 2022, will transport you into Southern French joy
and light as you step in. Savoy Restaurant in Helsinki, one of the crown jewels
of Finnish restaurants and a timeless source of inspiration in terms of
comprehensive interior design, still holding on to the original designs made 85
years ago by Aino and Alvar Aalto, has now been joined by its little cousin at
the street level of the same building. The open kitchen is also led by Chef
Patron Helena Puolakka, and the food is pure taste, passion and authenticity.
Café Savoy invites you to enjoy yourself in a relaxing, warm atmosphere.
This was
also another great opportunity for Innolux to demonstrate its capacity to
fulfil a project order. The wall and table lamps by Studio Joanna Laajisto are
in line with the charmingly classic design glow beautifully in Café Savoy. “I’m
very happy with the outcome and the quality of it,” says interior designer
Joanna Laajisto.
Tailored
solutions by our experts were successful thanks to seamless collaboration.
“We were
contacted in the summer, and here we are now, looking at this beautiful lamp,”
says Joel Klemetti, Innolux product manager. Close cooperation led to a unique
result. The brass frame of the lamp was done by Paja&Bureau from Helsinki.
The fabric for the shade was made by Lennol Oy in Southern Ostrobothnia. With Finnish
expertise throughout, the elegant lamps were completed at Innolux.
The mainly
bespoke look is at the heart of the values of Café Savoy.“The bespoke lamps on
the 8th floor of Savoy play a major role, and most of them were made by Taito.
We were eager to continue this tradition and it was important to us that the
manufacturer be Finnish. This is why Innolux was a natural choice,” says Saku
Tuominen, one of the owners of Financier Group behind the restaurant.
In Café
Savoy’s beautiful scent-filled atmosphere, Finnish choices, quality and
durability are visible choices that create the pleasant atmosphere. Favoring
natural materials ensures beautiful aging, and we do not have to worry too much
about minor wear and tear – they are merely the signs of life. Alongside all
the new things, there is also something old, as the original wooden doors were
brought back in respect of the history of the place. This is a place with
hospitality, expertise and ease written all over it – all the guests have to do
is enjoy themselves.
