What should be considered when purchasing a lamp?

When going lamp shopping, it’s important to consider what kind of space the lights are intended for and what purpose the lamp will serve.

If the goal is to provide even illumination throughout the room, it is advisable to choose a ceiling light that produces broad general lighting, such as a flush mount ceiling lamp (plafond).

For general lighting in spaces such as the living room or bedroom, a pendant light is a good option. In the living room, in addition to good overall ceiling lighting, it is worth investing in table or floor lamps, which complement the interior and bring the whole space to life.

In the kitchen, strong and efficient lighting is needed to make cooking tasks smooth and effortless, whereas in the dining room and around the dining table, the general lighting does not need to be as bright as in kitchen work areas.

When choosing a pendant light, it is important to consider not only the shape of the shade but also the installation height. The mounting height significantly affects how wide an area the light covers. When placed higher, a pendant light illuminates a larger area, while a lower installation creates more focused lighting.
